Rockford — So it’s cold and snowy outside – so what?
So what Parkside Elementary fifth-graders did was trek about three miles north to Camp Rockford, on Rector Avenue NE along the Rogue River. There they spent the afternoon building survival fires, pinecone bird feeders, snow forts and snowshoeing through nature. The culminating activity was a bonfire complete with marshmallow roasting and hot cocoa.
