Welcome back one and all! As always, we are very excited to begin another amazing school year. I know having a senior this year will make this year fly by faster than any other. To those sending your first one off to kindergarten, look out! As cliché as it sounds, time does fly! The past 12 years have been filled with wonderful memories – with more to come.
At the beginning of each school year is a great time to reiterate our responsibility as a Board, to the long-term, lasting success of our District. The collaborative working relationship of our dedicated teachers, support staff, administrators and Board of Education speaks to the commitment all involved have to the students of this community.
A special thank you to everyone for the never ending community support our District continues to receive. The approval of the May 2014 bond proposal for capital improvement projects is a testament to the belief this community has in public education. This support is critical to the foundation of our schools and the continuing success of our students.
I enjoy all aspects of my position on the Board, and one of the greatest is recognizing student achievement in the classroom, in fine-arts, athletic championships, all cocurricular activities and finally graduation. When we shake hands with graduating seniors, who are beaming as they cross the stage, it is truly a highlight of the year.
It is such a privilege to serve this community.
