Early Childhood Special Education

Our ECSE, Early Childhood Special Education, is a program that is funded by the Rockford Public Schools, and the state and federal governments. Each child is tested by the early childhood diagnostic team, and only those with a delay in one or more developmental areas qualify for programming. Once a child qualifies, goals and objectives are written based on test results and parental input. The child's daily instruction focuses on specific goals and objectives, as well as age-appropriate and developmental skills.

The ECSE Program is located at Meadow Ridge Elementary School.  For further program information please refer to the ECSE Handbook, or contact Kirsten Myers, Executive Director of Special Services, at kmyers@rockfordschools.org, or 616.863.6326.
