Speech GroupsSpeech groups facilitate language skills in children two to five years old. Additionally, they provide parents with an educational component designed to reinforce expressive and receptive language skills in the home environment. The group meets for one hour, two times a week, and is taught by a speech and language pathologist/early childhood teacher. Through participation in thematically based language classes, children make gains in expressive and receptive language. They have opportunities to practice social skills as they interact with peers in a small group setting.
