Principal's WelcomeMeadow Ridge Elementary serves almost 600 students in early childhood special education through grade five. The principal of Meadow Ridge is Sharon Wells. Meadow Ridge has 33 classroom teachers, two resource room teachers, a reading specialist, and teachers for music, art, and physical education. We also have two psychologists, two speech pathologists, two social workers, an occupational therapist, and a physical therapist on staff. We have a wonderful library where we promote literacy and learning. We also have a gifted and talented program. Meadow Ridge is fully accredited by AdvancED, formerly the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. Meadow Ridge has earned an "A" from the State of Michigan for the past seven years.
Meadow Ridge is excited to be the location our district Early Childhood Center which began in the Fall of 2011. All Rockford Public Schools Developmental Kindergarten (DK) students and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) students will attend Meadow Ridge as part of this center. Although the DK and ECSE are separate programs, having them at the same school will allow both groups of students to receive enhanced services. Meadow Ridge will continue to service their K-5 resident students as well.
All Rockford Public Schools are Blue Ribbon Exemplary Schools, with Meadow Ridge receiving its state award in March of 2009. Welcome to Meadow Ridge!
