Preschool Enrichment Child Care Rockford Community Services Building, 350 N. Main St.
Our all day preschool, with wrap-around child care, is accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Parents can be assured that their child is receiving the best care and early learning experiences. The national association has high standards in 10 different areas: relationships with children, curriculum, teaching, assessment, health, teachers, families, community relationships, physical environment and management. A center must show proficiency in all areas to be given the accreditation status. It takes many months of self-study, research, discussion and making changes before a center is ready for an on-site visit from a validator. The findings are then sent to a committee who makes the determination and award.
The State of Michigan has recently introduced a new system for monitoring and maintaining quality child care programs. Rockford Preschool and Child Care Services is in the process of obtaining a rating through Michigan’s Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System (TQRIS), an important step for our center in supporting a “culture” of quality for young children.
Beginning this year, ratings will be available to anyone using Great Start CONNECT – a web based online searchable database for licensed child care and preschools that also provides parents information about area resources that serve young families and children. To access information about Great Start CONNECT, go to www.greatstartconnect.org has earned the distinction of national accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a governing organization that has established high program standards of quality for early childhood programs. Parents can be assured that their child will be exposed to varied learning experiences, including a planned preschool program, meals, and both gym and outdoor play.
We are proud of our well-trained staff and the relationships they have built with families. Our staff are trained in early childhood, CPR, and first aid.
