Welcome to River Valley Academy!
Established in 1993, River Valley Academy is an alternative high school offering a non-traditional high school setting. River Valley Academy offers a full program of required and elective classes for high school students. A small program, River Valley can offer individualized instruction, allowing students to recover credits and/or accelerate. RVA creates a safe and comfortable atmosphere for learning.
River Valley Academy exists to help students succeed. Staff exercises compassion and flexibility to meet the needs of students. Scheduling options include: KCTC, Co-op, and online coursework. The RVA staff provides the opportunity and support you need to earn your Rockford High School diploma.

Looking for a unique high school opportunity which would allow you to enjoy high school sports and activities?
River Valley Academy is what you are looking for! RVA offers a full schedule of high school classes on site and online. RVA students may attend KCTC (Kent Career and Technical Center), participate in Co-op to earn work credit, and enjoy community service opportunities. In addition, River Valley students may participate in RHS sports, theater productions, dances, and clubs.
At River Valley Academy, you become part of a small academic community, even while you are a part of the larger RHS athletic and extracurricular community.
Frustrated with online courses?
River Valley Academy allows you to complete required course work on site, at a pace that is comfortable for you. Teachers enjoy teaching you at your level, and watching you succeed!
