Principal's Welcome

Roguewood Elementary School is both a state and nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School that has been providing a world-class education to the Rockford community since 1990. Roguewood Elementary currently serves 650 students in developmental kindergarten through fifth grade. Roguewood Elementary is also home to Rockford Public Schools' Spanish Immersion and Autistic (ASD) magnet programs. In addition to our 40 professional teaching staff members, there are a variety of Special Services personnel and numerous support staff that assist in Roguewood’s daily operation. Special Services personnel include resource room teachers, a school psychologist, social worker, reading specialist, speech pathologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and nurse. Support staff includes a media specialist, secretaries, custodians, classroom and playground paraprofessionals, and lunchroom personnel. Roguewood students have consistently achieved well above standards on measures of achievement in all core subject areas on the Michigan Educational Assessment Program test (MEAP). Accredited by North Central Association, Roguewood Elementary has a vibrant school improvement process centered around Professional Learning Communities.  Teachers meet together on a consistent basis to analyze data for the purpose of improving student achievement.  Roguewood is proud of its accomplishments having received an “A” rating from the State of Michigan and the Education Yes system for rating schools for the past seven years.  Roguewood has served as a host school for the U.S. Department of State Fulbright Teacher Exchange program and was recognized as a Michigan Green School in 2009.

Roguewood staff is committed to preparing students for the 21st century and the global world.  We hope you find this website helpful in learning more about the educational opportunities at Roguewood Elementary.
