Welcome to the Rockford Summer School Age Activities Program. New this year, the program is for children who have completed DK through 6th grade. Students must have a set schedule, 2 day minimum and enrollment is for the entire summer. Credits for vacation, summer camps, etc., cannot be given. We hope this website will provide you with the information you need. Summer, 2015 (date revised 12.1.14)
Email registration begins on March 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
PLEASE include the following in your email:
"Summer Enrollment" in the subject line
- Name of the child
- Name of the school currently attending
- Grade your child is entering Sept., 2015
- Days needing care (2 set days minimum) Flexible schedules cannot be accommodated
- Any special needs/allergies.
NOTE: Program has been extended to children who have completed 6th. grade.
Care is TENTATIVELY at the Administration Building*. Confirmation of care will be sent via email within a few weeks after the registration deadline. The enrollment deposit and any changes or cancellations to your schedule are due by April 24, 2015. If you cancel after the cutoff date, you will be responsible for one half of the total summer tuition. The one time program fee per child will be applied to your account.
*Tentative Location: subject to change due to possible construction schedule.
Dates: Wednesday, June 10 - Friday, August 21st.
Note New End Date: The program will end two (2) weeks prior to the start of school; school begins Tuesday, September 8, 2015. The program will be closed on July 3rd.
Enrollment Deposit: $70.00 per child, due on or before April 24, 2015
Tuition: $35.00 per day, per child; you must enroll for the entire summer for a minimum of two set days per week.
Program Fee: $65.00 one time fee/per child. Fee will be on the June statement.
Items Needed Each Day:
Swim suit & towel
Labeled water bottle
Labeled bug spray
Morning snack, lunch & drink.
The Center is open Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. The TENTATIVE dates for the program for the 2014 summer are Wednesday, June 11 - Friday, August 22nd. The program will be closed on July 3rd. & 4th. The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2, 2014.
If your child has a minor accident while at the Center, staff will complete our Accident Report Form and provide parents with a copy at departure time. Staff will make every effort to discuss the incident with parents when they arrive. If the accident is concerning to staff, the parent will be contacted.
Parents will be called in the event a child requires emergency care. If parents are unavailable, persons indicated on the child information sheet will be notified. In the event none of the above can be reached and it is an extreme situation, the child will be taken to the hospital listed on the child’s info sheet.Field Trip
A field trip form will be signed at the time of registration, and before each bus field trip you will always be informed of the trip destination and specifics regarding transportation, walking route, or any charges. Field trips vary each summer, but often include the pool, bowling, local parks, or pizza.Staff
Each room is staffed with a Lead Teacher and an Aide. Many of our Leads and Aides are the same staff used in our school year BAC program. Aides must be 18 with a special interest in working with children. Swimming
We will be walking to the North Rockford Middle School and we will also have various water days at the Center. The days will be alternated so that each group has an opportunity to participate. It is a good idea to leave a suit and towel at the Center so they are always available when needed.Parent Info
Parents learn much about the program by observing the parent information boards when they drop off or pick up their child. Advance notice of upcoming events, field trips, swimming days, etc., will be posted. It is the responsibility of the parent to check the board for information. Please note that some activities are added/changed at the last minute due to scheduling/attendance/weather, etc.
Each month the staff prepares a newsletter/calendar so you are aware of upcoming activities. It is very important that you read that information to know what is happening and what you need to provide, or special clothes to wear on a certain day.
Parents must provide a morning snack, lunch and a drink each day. Please, no pop or energy drinks. An afternoon snack is provided by the Center.
Children will need to bring a labeled water bottle, sun screen, and bug spray to leave at the Center. Please do not bring valuables and/or electronic devices.
