Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Rockford High School, home of the RAMS!! Rockford High School has a very rich tradition of success both in and out of the classroom. Our entire staff is committed to providing outstanding academic opportunities and other supportive services for our students, parents, and community.

Rockford High School is proud to be recognized as a Michigan Blue Ribbon Exemplary School and is fully accredited by AdvanceED, formerly known as NCA (North Central Association of Schools and Colleges). It is important to note that all of the Rockford Public Schools buildings are 100 percent Blue Ribbon certified! Rockford High School has also been recognized by the State of Michigan and has earned an “A” the past seven years through the Education YES! Program. The State gives these grades based on test scores and school improvement information. We are very proud of our long-standing commitment to excellence in the classroom!

Beyond academics, our students are offered state and nationally recognized fine arts programs, comprehensive and varied club and intramural activities, as well as 35 athletic opportunities (with over 42 state championships). Rockford High School is also deeply committed to community service. Our students are involved in many projects that support our community and the greater Grand Rapids area, as well as international causes.

Thanks for visiting this site and please contact us if you have any questions regarding the many wonderful things that happen daily at Rockford High School!

Rockford Rotary Awards
2015 STRIVE Scholarship

Rockford Rotary and Rockford High School are proud to announce this year's recipient of the STRIVE scholarship, Maryah Massop. Maryah was awarded the Rick Ehinger Memorial STRIVE Scholarship by Michelle Ehinger, Rick’s wife. Rick, a longtime Rockford Rotarian, was passionate about the STRIVE program and raised thousands of dollars to bring the program into Rockford some eight years ago.

To date, 74 Rockford seniors have participated in STRIVE. STRIVE stands for Students Taking a Renewed Interest in the Value of Education.  It is a program where students are mentored their senior year of high school.  Throughout the year selected students and mentors meet regularly and participate in community service projects.  Incentives are awarded at various times during the year for students who increase grades, improve attendance, and have no discipline issues.

Rockford High School would like to thank Rockford Rotary for their continued support of Rockford High School and truly making a difference in the lives of the community.  If you would like to learn more about the program, or are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Katy VanCuren at RHS.
