Blue Ribbon Exemplary School

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Rockford High School, home of the RAMS!! Rockford High School has a very rich tradition of success both in and out of the classroom. Our entire staff is committed to providing outstanding academic opportunities and other supportive services for our students, parents, and community.

Rockford High School is proud to be recognized as a Michigan Blue Ribbon Exemplary School and is fully accredited by AdvanceED, formally known as NCA (North Central Association of Schools and Colleges). It is important to note that all of the Rockford Public Schools buildings are 100 percent Blue Ribbon certified! Rockford High School has also been recognized by the State of Michigan and has earned an “A” the past seven years through the Education YES! Program. The State gives these grades based on test scores and school improvement information. We are very proud of our long standing commitment to excellence in the classroom!

Beyond academics, our students are offered state and nationally recognized fine arts programs, comprehensive and varied club and intramural activities, as well as 35 athletic opportunities (with over 31 state championships). Rockford High School is also deeply committed to community service. Our students are involved in many projects that support our community and the greater Grand Rapids area, as well as international causes.

Thanks for visiting this site and please contact us if you have any questions regarding the many wonderful things that happen daily at Rockford High School!

STRIVE Awards Scholars

STRIVE, a program sponsored by Rockford Rotary, awarded two Rockford seniors scholarships at a recent ceremony.  STRIVE is a program where students are mentored their senior year of high school. Although STRIVE has been around nationally for many years, it is just completing its 4th year at Rockford.  Throughout the year selected students and mentors meet regularly and participate in community service projects.  Incentives are awarded at various times during the year for students who increase grades, improve attendance, and have no discipline issues.  This year’s recipients each received a $1,200 scholarship to continue their education.

Rockford High School would like to thank Rockford Rotary for their continued support of Rockford High School and truly making a difference in the lives of the community.  If you would like to learn more about the program, or are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Katy VanCuren at RHS.
