Rockford Public Schools is going to offer a 3 week “Summer Reading School” for students that are in need of extra support with reading. The instruction will be a small group read-ing program with students, and done by certified teachers with a reading background. Student progress will be monitored throughout the three weeks. At the completion of the program, an evaluation and suggestions will be shared with parents and the students’ teachers in September.
The summer math program will review and reinforce math skills learned the past year while preparing the student for the upcoming year. The focus will be placed on strengthening the fundamentals, utilizing grade specific curriculum taught by certified teachers.
