Basketball Girls Summer Camps

Each day, campers will learn new skills and have opportunities for team and individual competitions.  Learn our basic offensive and defensive principles.  Coached by members of the Girls Varsity Basketball Team and the Girls Coaching Staff, each camper will receive enthusiastic and quality instruction.  Each camper receives a camp T-shirt, basketball, and workout packet.  A short ceremony will take place the last 15 minutes of camp on Thursday.

Learn to Row:
This program focuses on developing and expanding on key rowing techniques as well as learning how to handle the equipment and become comfortable being on the water. Rowers will work on learning the stroke of rowing on the rowing machines, the dock, then transitioning onto the water. This is a great rowing introduction to those interested in the sport for the long run or looking to try something new.

Learn to Skull:
This program focuses on developing and expanding on key rowing techniques such as rowing with 2 oars as well as becoming comfortable being on the water. Dance Camp

Camp activities will be based around dance technique, dance games, etc. There will be more basic activities for the younger campers while the older campers will gain valuable technique. There will be a routine taught that will be level appropriate. We will have a performance on the last day of camp at 11:30 for the parents. A camp t-shirt is included in the price.

“RAM PRIDE” TEAM CAMP Grades 7th-12th

We focus on LEARNING and PRACTICING football the ROCKFORD WAY. Participants should wear: t-shirts, shorts, socks, football shoes, mouth guards (encouraged yet optional). This camp is non-contact and no equipment is needed.

This TEAM camp will:
• To better acquaint ALL athletes with their level’s offensive and defensive terminology.
• To learn and polish TECHNIQUES associated with each offensive and defensive position.
• To develop and raise the SKILL level associated with all positions.
• To become familiar with the DRILL progression associated with the Rockford Football Program.
• ALL individuals will receive instruction during individual, group and TEAM periods.

QUARTERBACK TECHNIQUE CLINIC

The Rockford QB Technique Clinic is designed for young men who are SERIOUS about competing at the quarterback position. This is a clinic for QB’s entering grades 8-12. Time spent during the three days of our Technique Clinic will place major emphasis on many of the mechanics associated with successful quarterback play. Each individual will be exposed to numerous drills that emphasize footwork and proper arm action involved in passing the football.

Gymnastics camp will focus on skills at each child’s individual level, from beginner gymnastics skills to more advanced tumbling skills. All events (vault, bars, beam, floor) will be taught. Students will work on basics, flexibility, and strength, as well as new skills and upgrades. Students are to bring/wear: leotard or shorts and tank top, grips if you have them. Please have your hair pulled back.

Students must be enrolled in Kindergarten for the upcoming school year, or already be in grades K-5 to attend.

Boys Lacrosse Camp

The Rockford High School coaching staff is dedicated to providing a high energy and enthusiastic atmosphere.  The camp is focused on the fundamentals and the building blocks of lacrosse.  The campers are broken up by grades.  The younger camps will work on passing, catching, shooting, and picking up groundballs.  Games will be played and prizes will be given in hopes of getting the campers excited about the great sport of lacrosse.  The older campers will focus on the fundamentals while incorporating team practice concepts.

Girls Youth Lacrosse Camp

This camp is put on by the RHS Girls Lacrosse coaching staff and high school players.  Campers will have fun working through drills as they learn the fundamentals of the game. Based on experience level, players will be put into like skill groups. As an example: players with a higher skill level will be grouped together. This will allow the coaching staff to work with all the players. All levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to attend camp. Please bring a Lacrosse stick, goggles, and mouth guard.  We will have goggles and sticks for first time players. Please arrive 15 minutes early on the first day for check in.
