Before and After School Care Program (BAC)

The program will be held at Valley View – Wednesday, June 14 – Thursday, August 10, 2017; 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

Please include the following in your registration information for SUMMER:

  • “Summer Enrollment” in the subject line
  • Name of the child
  • Name of the school currently attending
  • Grade your child is entering Aug., 2017
  • Days needing care (2 set days minimum) Flexible schedules cannot be accommodated
  • Any special needs/allergies.

The BAC Program provides quality care for RPS school-aged children in developmental kindergarten through fifth grade and is available every school day at all of our elementary schools. This program focuses on enhancing physical, intellectual, social and emotional development, with recognition of individual interests and talents and promotion of the school as a safe and stimulating place.

To help parents and children adjust quickly and happily to the program, and to prevent any misunderstandings, please carefully review program information.  If you have questions, contact the Child Care Services Office at 616.863.6560, hours are generally Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with limited hours on no-school days and during the summer.  TAX ID# 38-600-1986

Family Registration Fee:  $40 non-refundable family registration fee is due at the time of enrollment.  There is no sibling discount.

Morning session:  7:00–8:30am, $7 per day per child

Afternoon session:  3:30–6:00pm, $10 per day per child

2 Hr. Delay/Late Start:  $10.00 per day per child

Early Release Afternoon:  13.00 per day per child

No school half days: Care available at your school.  Pre-registration is required. $20 per day per child

No school full days: (e.g., professional development days and some holiday breaks) $40 per day per child.  Pre-registration is required.  Care is held at Parkside

Enrollment is available throughout the school year as long as there is space. Children may participate in games, arts and crafts, literacy, homework, and indoor/outdoor recreation time. A snack is provided after school each day.

With the exception of the start of school, children can start attending BAC 48 hours after the completed paperwork and the family registration fee has been received in the Preschool and Child Care office.

*Revised Policy as of November 1, 2016:  Due to the overwhelming amount of missing schedules/calendars, if your child is sent to BAC and they DO NOT have a current month calendar entered in Family Access, each child will be charged double the standard AM ($7) or PM ($10) rate for each day they attend without a calendar.

If you do not set your schedule in between the 1st and 20th of each month, you will be charged a $25 fee for our staff to enter your schedule for you.

 

Tuition Information

  • $25.00 per family until August 12, 2016.
  • Enrollment Fee – $40.00 per family August 13, 2016-end of school year.
  • Before School Care and Activities – $7.00 per child/morning.
  • After School Care and Activities – $10.00 per child/afternoon.
  • ½ Day Care and Activities – $20.00 BAC.
  • AM Delay of School Care and Activities – $10.00 ($7.00 regular charge plus $3.00 delay)
  • PM Early Release of School Care and Activities – $13.00 ($10.00 regular charge plus $3.00 release).
  • Full day Care and Activities – $40.00 per child/day.
  • Returned check charge – $9.00.
  • Compiling Attendance – $25.00.

If at any time you need past Attendance records, the fee will need to be paid in advance. In the case of separated/divorced parents, if a parent requests information regarding the days he/she is not responsible for enrollment, both parents must agree to the release of information.  After the office receives the request, we will contact the other parent/guardian for authorization to release the information.  If you have an unpaid outstanding balance, that balance must be paid in full before Attendance records will be provided. Payment can be made with an American Express, MasterCard, Visa or Discover card.

We accept tuition payments from D.H.S. families. Families must provide proof of D.H.S. acceptance for your child prior to their attendance.

Payments - Family Access

The BAC program is set-up by child, not by family.  Each child enrolled has their own account.  You can locate your child’s account through Family Access.  We pre-bill and collect tuition for all of our programs.  Prior to enrolling, your student’s BAC account needs to be up to date with no outstanding balance.   A bill for services scheduled for the next month is generated in your Family Access account when the schedule is being entered.  The bill must be paid in full by the 25th of the month for those services which are scheduled to occur in the following month. Payments are made by logging into Family Access using the Fee Management tab and paid via E-Funds. If you have more than 1 child in BAC, payments will be required separately for each child.

At the time of registration, parents will commit their child to a regular weekly schedule.  Parents will be charged tuition for those sessions whether or not the child/children attend; this includes scheduled non-school hours/days.  Tuition is charged on the basis of enrollment, not attendance, i.e, illness, vacation – if BAC is open you will be charged.  Minimum enrollment is four (4) weeks for one a.m. or one p.m. session. Any credits or additional use of the program will be billed the following month. There is no sibling discount.

Receipts

  • If you pay by cash, check or money order and need a receipt, please include a self-addressed envelope with your payment.
  • When self-paying online, the option is there for you to print a receipt.
