On May 6, 2008, voters approved a $45.8 million bond proposal, which results in no increase in the current debt millage rate.

Building Improvements

  • Expand elementary building capacity
  • Update science labs and install elevator at North RMS for ADA compliance
  • Expand gymnasium at Freshman Center
  • Improve security at all schools and facilities
  • Update elementary playground equipment
  • Expand parking at elementaries where space allows
  • Purchase equipment for grades 6-12 orchestra program

Technology Upgrades

IMPORTANT: In compliance with state law, all technology projects will be paid for within the first five years of the bond issue
  • Replace all workstations and student computer labs
  • Install projection systems in classrooms for multi-media curriculum presentations
  • Update sound systems in all K-8 classrooms for improved learning environment
  • Update district-wide network infrastructure to support new technology
  • Upgrade broadcast and auditorium equipment at RHS
  • Expand adaptive technology for special needs students

Community Recreation/ Athletic Playing Fields

  • Additional fields will increase access and opportunities for students and the community
  • Expand multipurpose and softball/baseball fields at East RMS, Freshman Center and Rockford High School
  • Expand lower elementary multipurpose fields at Roguewood Elementary
