It is an honor and pleasure to serve as a Rockford Public Schools trustee. Originally from northeast Grand Rapids, my husband, William and I moved to Rockford in 2013. We have two sons: Bradley, currently a senior at Rockford High School, and Jonathan, a ninth-grade student at the Rockford Freshman Center.

I graduated from Davenport University with a BA and Master’s degree in Accounting and also furthered my education in engineering and also participated in the Tuck Executive School of Business. I have over 20 years of experience in accounting, finance and business operations with extensive experience in building and growing teams as an entrepreneur.

Besides my career, leadership and giving back to the community have been a passion and a driver in my life. I am excited to be involved in education and use my experiences to help our district remain strong today and well into the future.

In my leisure time, my life revolves around family and watching our two sons play football, baseball and basketball. My other hobbies include spending time on the water, running, cooking and baking.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve our school district in this capacity. I would like to offer a thank you to everyone for the never ending community support our District continues to receive.  The approval of the May 2019 bond proposal for capital improvement projects ranging from upgrades in technology, to the addition of a much needed elementary school, is a testament to the belief this community has in public education.   This support is critical to the foundation of our schools and the continuing success of our students.

Originally from New Mexico, I have grown to love this wonderful community of Rockford since my husband Mike and I relocated here in 1995. We have two daughters: Rachel, a 2015 graduate of Rockford High School and the University of Notre Dame; is currently in her first year of Law School at University of Michigan; and Claudia, a 2017 graduate of Rockford High School and currently attending Butler University in Indianapolis, IN and pursuing a degree in Biology/Chemistry.  We are eternally grateful to the wonderful staff at Rockford Public Schools, who played such an important role in our girls’ success in their education.

I earned my B.S. in Finance from New Mexico State University.   I currently work for Crowe LLP, in public accounting and have been with the Firm for 20 years.  In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, playing golf, live music and attending any high school sporting event.

I am blessed to serve our community and students as a member of your Board of Education. My wife Joan and I have lived here since 2004 to raise our three children. While we looked across the United States, West Michigan was set apart in our short list and Rockford’s sense of community drew us here on purpose and without regret.  I have spent many years in the software industry consulting senior executives and plant employees alike. I currently work in applications development as a Director. My wife and I enjoy a life of service to students and currently do so through the schools and our church. We have three foundationally prepared students from RPS who went to university (Liberty University/Calvin College/Indiana Wesleyan) and call West Michigan home.
