Rockford Public Schools is a district founded on traditional values. Our role is to act in partnership with parents to prepare children to be productive citizens. Athletic participation by our students is one path that our students can choose to complement their High School experience. The Administration and Staff of Rockford High School are committed to the practice of sportsmanship in the conduct of all inter-scholastic competition. To be successful, it is critical that everyone consistently behaves in a sportsman like manner, coaches, players, cheerleaders, parents, and fans. "Sportsmanship" is defined as those qualities of behavior which are characterized by generosity and genuine concern for others. At Rockford that means a concern for everyone - opposing teams, coaches and fans and respect for our officials. Remember, "competition is a game not a war." We encourage you to display a positive attitude toward our teams, coaches, visitors and officials. To our students: Enjoy your high school years by supporting your teams in a positive fashion.
