The USDA has extended the federal waiver that allows school districts to continue to serve food under the summer guidelines until end of school year. Because of this, lunch will be free of charge to all students as well as breakfast at Meadow Ridge and all secondary schools. This only applies to school meals, not ala carte or individual items such as drinks, snacks, and extra main dishes. These additional items will continue to be available to purchase for an extra charge. In order for the benefits to apply, a student must choose at least three out of the five food components, one of which must be a fruit or a vegetable and include a milk.
