a note from Mr. Clark
Welcome to the latest edition of the RHS Newsletter - It's hard to believe we are already nearing the end of the first trimester here at RHS! The trimester ends on November 14th.
Exams: First trimester exams will take place on November 13th and 14th. Lunch is served on both dates. The offices do not require a parent phone call for students who have completed all exams during the scheduled periods and leave after the 5th period exam on Friday, November 14, but they will require transportation to do this as buses will still arrive between 2:30-3:00 p.m. The exam schedule can be found HERE.
Senior Photos: The deadline to submit Senior photos for the yearbook is December 12, 2025. Photos must be formatted vertically, no full length photos, and must be full color, no sepia or other toned images. Email your photos to Mr. Feeley at jfeeley@rockfordschools.org
Upcoming Bond Information: The Rockford Community will vote on a bond proposal on the November 4, 2025 election ballot. Find everything you need to know to make an informed decision here: Bond Info Link
Winter Sports: As fall sports come to a close, winter sports tryouts are now happening. We offer a wide variety of winter sports. Click HERE for more information.

Flex Time: Flex is going strong! This is a time for students to get targeted intervention or enrichment opportunities. Students should sign up anytime between 6:00 am on Friday until 9:00 am on Monday. We have some great offerings in the next few weeks:

•Skill/Talent Sharing: Do you have a unique skill or hobby you could share (e.g., coding basics, cooking, budgeting, interviewing, graphic design)?
Your time and expertise can make a real difference, enhancing the excellent Flex time staff are already doing. These sessions are designed to expand students' knowledge of opportunities, skills, and potential career pathways. Flex time runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:40-12:10. Please complete quick survey if you are interested in volunteering for a session(s).

Sophomore Information
Over the past two weeks, all sophomores met with their counselors during Flex time for large group sessions. Topics included:
- RHS Counseling Office resources
- Navigating the Schoology Class of 2028 page
- KCTC opportunities
- RHS credits, scheduling, and key academic info
Students are encouraged to schedule a one-on-one meeting with their counselor for any follow-up questions.

The counseling office would like to remind you that Rockford High School offers a Care Closet stocked with a variety of free essential items available to any RHS student. Items include, but are not limited to:
- Non-perishable food
- Toiletries
- Personal hygiene products
- Clothing
- Shoes
All students are welcome to access the Care Closet whenever a need arises. If your student or family could benefit from this resource, please contact the Counseling Office. Students may stop by at any time to request a visit to the Care Closet or message their counselor through Schoology. Alternatively, families can send an email to Kara Dixon (kdixon@rockfordschools.org) and she will coordinate with you. Additionally, we offer “grab-and-go” bags containing non-perishable food items for students who prefer a more discreet option. The greater Rockford area also has a variety of food resources - a link with those options is attached here. If you need more consistent help, please use the link here to fill out a form for the Hand2Hand program. We’re here to help - please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can support you in any way.
