News from Sra. Santillán
Dear Roguewood Families,
What a wonderful and celebratory week it has been at Roguewood! We are so proud of our students and staff for all they have accomplished together.
We recently held a very successful Spelling Bee for our 4th and 5th graders, with 24 students competing. Congratulations to Jackson O., who earned 1st place and will be representing Roguewood in the next round of Spelling Bee Champs. Our runner-up, Mari S., also did an outstanding job. We are incredibly proud of all of our students who participated and showed courage, focus, and perseverance.
On Wednesday, we celebrated our Students of the Month with a special ceremony complete with cider and donuts. It was a joyful opportunity to highlight the many ways these students lead, model positive behavior, and demonstrate strong character throughout our school. We also recognized our Spanish Speakers of the Month, celebrating their dedication and growth in language learning and goal towards biliteracy.
Our Winter Concert, led by Mrs. Rito, was truly a highlight of the season. 2nd - 5th grade students beautifully showcased the musical skills and talents they have been working so hard to develop. In addition, Ms. Turner shared samples of student artwork at the concert, giving families a chance to see the creativity and effort happening in our classrooms. It is clear how student-centered our staff is and how much they uplift and celebrate our students every day.
Between field trips, classroom parties, performances, and recognitions, it has truly been a week filled with joy. Our staff and students bring that joy to Roguewood each and every day.
Wishing you and your families a very safe, restful, and joy-filled Holiday Season. We look forward to seeing everyone in the new year!
Your proud principal!
Amie Santillán

To avoid your student’s clothing from going into the lost and found PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING!!! Label all coats, boots, mittens, hats, etc. Labeling items will ensure they will back it back home!
ALL students should have a change of clothes in their lockers. Our Care Closet only has a few outfits for students to borrow and bring back. We tend to run out as the year goes on.
