News from Sra. Santillán
Hello Roguewood Families,
It is hard to believe that we are already entering into the month of May. We have lots of fun activities planned, students are in the season of assessments where they are showing us all they have learned and how much they have grown, the grass is getting greener, and the sun is starting to shine brighter.
I would like to remind families about the Family Culture and Climate Survey. Click here for the link. Your voice truly matters to us. The feedback you provide helps guide our decisions, strengthen our school, and ensures that Roguewood continues to be a place where every student and family feels welcomed and supported. Thank you to the families who have already taken the time to share their thoughts. We sincerely appreciate it.
Next week, we are placing a special focus on two important expectations during lunch and recess for students:
- Keeping voice levels down in the cafeteria
- Making sure recess equipment is returned to the bins at the end of recess
Each day, one K–2 class and one 3–5 class will be highlighted and acknowledged for going above and beyond in demonstrating these expectations. At the end of each week, Mrs. Evans will draw one class from those recognized and treat them to an extra 15-minute recess. Thank you, Mrs. Evans, for creating this fun opportunity to celebrate our students and recognize the many positive choices they make to help keep Roguewood a great place to be.
M-STEP testing is in full swing, and we could not be more proud of our students. They have done an outstanding job keeping the hallways quiet and supporting one another. Our 3rd–5th grade students are showing impressive stamina and focus, and the entire school community has been incredibly encouraging. Thank you to our families for helping by scheduling appointments outside of morning testing times whenever possible. It truly makes a difference in minimizing interruptions.
After this week, we have five more weeks with students here at Roguewood. This time of year is always filled with wonderful memories, meaningful learning, and exciting activities. We are making every moment count!
Kind regards,
Amie Santillán, Proud Roguewood Principal
Mileage Club
Mileage Club is back and we are looking for volunteers! This is a great way to connect with your kid at their afternoon recess! Please consider helping our crew out--- no experience needed!
Sign Up to be a Mileage Club Volunteer here!!
As a reminder, Mileage Club is always optional to our students. We have lots of serious runners, but we also have kids that just love to walk a lap or two per session and then head back to the playground. All are welcome!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found will be placed outside over the weekend for parents to retrieve items.
Everything will be donated if not claimed!
Supporting Roguewood Families
As we look ahead to summer, we are reminded that while it’s a time of fun and relaxation for many, some of our Roguewood families face additional challenges during these months.
Each year, our school community comes together to support one another, and we are hoping to do the same again. If you are able and willing to help please click the links below to see what is needed.
Donations can be sent in with your student or dropped off at the office. Please make sure to label what family it goes to.
Thank you for always showing what makes Roguewood such a special and caring community!

Silent Auction
It’s that time of year again! Silent Auction time!
This year’s auction is online. Thanks to our fabulous staff, we will have 50 winners for 20 unique experiences. Be sure to check out the list of amazing opportunities! We hope that using an online platform gives all our families a chance to bid on what excites their students.
The auction is currently live and will close on Thursday, May 7 at 10 am. Staff will be in contact sometime after the close of the auction regarding logistics for the winners. Bid early and bid often!
If you have any questions, please reach out to RockfordSIBoosters@gmail.com.
