a note from mr. Karel
Dear Valley View Families,
As we wrap up our longest stretch of learning and prepare for Winter Break, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to our Valley View community. This time of year is a wonderful opportunity to rest, reflect, and enjoy meaningful moments with family and friends. Stay safe and see you in two weeks!
Warmly,
Mr. Karel

An annual tradition here at Valley View is our Carol's with Karel sing along. It's such a fun tradition and great way to kick off the holiday season! Buddy the Elf said it best, "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear."

Dare graduation
Congratulations to our fifth-grade students who graduated from DARE this week. Our DARE program provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice good decision-making skills to lead safe and healthy lives.

Book vending
Our next three book vending machine dates are January 23, March 27, and April 17. Students can earn one gold coin by donating two gently used books from home during the swap dates. Use your gold coin in the book vending machine for a new book you can take home and keep or trade it back in at the next book swap!

A bit of good news:
We received the nicest email from a Valley View parent and would love to pass the good cheer to you for making it possible!
I just wanted to express my gratitude to the Valley View Student Council! Today I had the pleasure of volunteering at North Kent Connect during their Christmas Gift Shop. In previous years, families were able to pick out two gifts per child. This year, due to the overwhelming amount of toy donations, families were able to pick out three gifts for each child and two stocking stuffers.
My task while there was to help families find items their kiddos would love. As I chatted with them while helping them shop, it was very clear just how thankful they were for the efforts of the community to make this possible and that includes you guys!
I just wanted to pass this message along and let the students know that even if they didn’t see it firsthand, their efforts in making announcements and collecting toys helped make all the difference this year for so many families.
As always, proud to be a party of the Valley View Community for reasons like this and many more!
Happy Holidays!
