Welcome to the 10-12 Building! Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!!
We hope that you are able to take some well deserved time to relax and unwind over the summer months. As we inch toward the first day of school on August 25, we are excited to partner with your family to help your student have a smooth and positive transition to the start of the school year. As you read through this initial newsletter, PLEASE reach out (using e-mail, phone call or stopping in) if you have questions, comments, concerns or just need to chat. We will have another newsletter come out in the beginning of August with more specific information related to the start of the school year. Our first goal is to help your family have a successful transition to high school. We are here to serve you! Our Summer Office Hours for the month of July will be Monday - Thursday from 8:00am -3:00pm.

RHS Office Hours from August 2025 through June 2026 Front Office - 7:00am to 3:30pm
Counseling Office - 7:00am to 3:30pm
Attendance Office - 7:00am to 3:00pm
Athletics Office - 9:00am to 3:00pm
Health Office - 8:00am - 2:15pm
RHS Orientation RHS orientation dates are August 18th and 19th, from 8:00am - 12:00pm, and are open to any student/grade level on both dates. It will be a first come first served structure. STUDENTS - PLEASE ENTER THROUGH THE AUDITORIUM ENTRANCE. Students should plan to be in the building for approximately 30-45 minutes to do the following:
1. No schedules will be printed ahead of time for students. Students can utilize their Student Access accounts or the Skyward App to view their schedule.
2. Students will get their picture taken (seniors too) for their school ID.Emails/mailings from Lifetouch regarding picture ordering packages will go out later this summer.
3. Students will pick up their ID card.
4. Check out school-issued Chromebook if needed. Students may bring their own device as well.
5. Authenticate your own device (for those bringing one) to the RPS network.
6. Counselors will be available to assist with Trimester 1 course issues.
7. Students that drive to school will need to purchase a parking permit and may do so at orientation. Cost is $20.00. Review the PARKING GUIDELINES before doing so.
8. Optional - Drop off medications in the Health Office. To make this as smooth as possible, please consider printing this LINKED FORM and filling it out in advance. NEW THIS YEAR - secondary students will be able to possess and self-administer over the counter medications with parent/guardian approval. Information about this is in the linked form above. Also, please reference this FLYER for more information and forms pertaining to the Health Office.
9. Optional - Students may put money on their lunch account.
10. Optional - Find classrooms for Trimester 1 courses.

Please see Mrs. Dominiak in the Co-Op Office, in the Lower Media Center, during orientation!
Recommended School Supplies:
The link above includes information about recommended school supplies for your student. There is contact information as well if students are in need of supplies.
Bring Your Own Device:
Rockford High School students have the opportunity to continue learning with the support of technology, often called 1 :1. Rockford elementary and middle schools issue a device to every student, but at high school, students are encouraged to provide their own device if possible. Students who do not bring their own device will have the opportunity to use a school-issued Chromebook. There are insurance options for families who use a school device.
Senior Parking Lot Announcement:
Attention Seniors with a Painted Parking Spot: The Senior parking lot (including the Tennis Court Lot) will be closed from 8am on Wednesday, August 13th through 4:30pm on Friday, August 22nd for district staff professional development and student orientation. If you are painting your parking spot, please make sure you have completed your spot and all cones, tape, brushes, etc. are picked up by the end of the day on August 10th. No painting will be allowed after August 10th as the parking lots will be heavily utilized. All materials or cones left in the parking lot after August 10th will be disposed of.
High School Athletics Fall sports begin prior to the start of school and athletes are required to have an updated physical on file prior to participation. Please visit the athletic webpage for contact information if your student is interested in high school athletic programs.
