a note from mr. Karel
Dear Parents,
Congratulations and thank you to Mrs. Saincome for yet another successful and adorable spring concert. The performances last night were truly delightful, and it was evident how much effort and dedication Mrs. Saincome and our students put into making it a memorable event for everyone involved. Thank you once again for a wonderful evening filled with joyful sounds.
We have officially entered the busiest time of the school year. From now until the end of school is slammed with both critical learning and fun filled days including field trips, field day, classroom learning celebrations, and so on. Please be sure to keep a close eye on your teacher's emails and our school calendar to be sure you don't miss any of the fun.
Speaking of field day, we are still looking for field day volunteers. This day is historically one of our student's favorites. Sign up to be a part of it and join in the fun!!
I hope to see you at Skate Night tonight!
-Mr. Karel

slushie sale
SLUSHIE SALE - MAY 16th: Our slushie sale is being hosted by the Kent County ISD Empower U program. This very special program provides specialized instruction and opportunities specific to employment and independent living skills necessary for neurodivergent young adults to live a purposeful and productive life. Their goals are to teach and increase independence at home, work, and in the community. They teach life skills such as cooking, grocery shopping, laundry, and more. Empower U utilizes the community for things such as the library, restaurants, any other low and no cost resources. They teach safe mobility in the community such as crossing the street, a parking lot, and more. Thank you for supporting such an important program to our community. Our students just love this sale!!
Art Show
Greetings Valley View families!
I'm excited to share that we will be having our school wide art show again this year! The show will be at Valley View on Thursday May 15th, from 4:30-6:00pm. Student work will be hung in the hallways for family and friends to enjoy. Every student has worked very hard over the last several weeks to produce an original and personal piece of art for display. I am so proud of them and am looking forward to sharing their creativity with all of you. Please join us in celebrating them all!

Family fun night
Making a comeback this year is Valley View fun night! This year, our family night will be hosted at 3 Mile Project in Grand Rapids. This ultra cool space exists for the purpose of providing a safe and loving place where young people can be encouraged in their physical, emotional, and spiritual development. The 34,000 square foot former warehouse now contains sports courts, theaters, a skate park, a ninja course, video games, table games, and a cafe.
