A Note From Mrs. O.

Happy Spring!!

It is a busy and fun time of year around our school.  Our students will wrap up their state testing in the next few weeks. Students have been engaged and focused during testing and the work they are doing is a celebration of all they have done this school year.

On Wednesday, May 14 at 6:30 pm we will have our last PTO meeting.  Our students and staff have benefitted from the work of the PTO this year. Our PTO is a small group and they are looking for more parents to be part of the group. Please consider attending this meeting and being part of the PTO. There are a variety of opportunities to explore that should fit with most schedules.

Next week we will celebrate our great staff during Staff Appreciation Week. Thank you for all of the donations for each day of the celebration. I appreciate being part of such a generous school community and I know our staff is going to feel celebrated.

Yearbooks have arrived!

Students that ordered a yearbook should have them today or Monday. Thank you to Mrs. Smith for all of the work she did on our first ever Edgerton Trails yearbook.  If you missed the opportunity to order we have a few in the office for $20.00 each and they are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Field Day update

Ms. Zappone has been busy planning Field Day for the end of May.  A Sign Up Genius for parent volunteers was sent out this week and was quickly filled.  For Field Day, families do not attend as it is a school day activity but we do rely on parent volunteers. Should there be an additional need for volunteers an updated Sign Up Genius will be sent out.  More details about the day and how to best dress students to be prepared will be coming home soon.

School Enrollment is Open

Enroll new students to RPS at the district website under the Enrollment tab. All new to RPS students will need to register for the 25-26 school year. This includes incoming Developmental Kindergarten and Kindergarten students.  For questions about the process, reach out to Mrs. Smith in our Edgerton Trails front office.

Early enrollment helps the district plan for class sizes and placement of staff. Please share this enrollment information with friends, families and neighbors.

5th Grade Tree Planting

Our 5th grade students planted a Michigan native tree this week on the school grounds. This was the grand finale to a year-long project of understanding the value of native plants, research, and planning. Students worked with their classroom teacher as well as the Outdoor Education Teacher, Mrs. DZ. This district-wide project was supported by Justin and Kristina Munsters (Belmont Parents) and Shaner Nursery through donations of trees and planting supplies.

Do you have a Dk/k student in the fall?
