Arena Scheduling
Class of 2029 Arena Opens Thursday, May 14 at 6 p.m.
Current Freshmen will participate in Arena Scheduling between May 14 at 6 p.m. and May 18 at 7:30 p.m. Arena Scheduling is a program in Student Access that allows high school students to select trimester, period, and teacher based on availability.
To note:
- Students should plan in advance, so they are prepared to participate.
- Some students will be busy when the arena window opens due to unavoidable conflicts. We encourage students who are concerned about this to arrange for a parent, sibling, or friend to complete arena scheduling on their behalf.
- Students may not get their first choice, but all students will have a full schedule - we promise!
- Freshmen should talk with their parent to ensure they make decisions best for their academic plan and not decisions based on social interests.
- Counselors are unable to help students build their schedules but are available to answer questions during sessions at school during lunch on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (May 11, 13, and 15). They also have Flex sessions on Tueday and Thursday (May 12 and 14).

PSAT Scores
Rockford Freshman Center students participated in state testing on April 22, 2026. Michigan utilizes the PSAT 8/9 and this information provides the state with information about student achievement across schools but also provides invaluable information to each school regarding strengths and areas for growth. PSAT is a trusted standardized test authored by College Board. In Michigan, students take the PSAT in grades 8, 9 and 10. In 11th grade, students take the SAT and multiple additional assessments.
Many freshmen may already have an account with College Board. Those who do not are encouraged to create one. The College Board account will provide students with PSAT results this summer. College Board also provides students with free practice opportunities and several tools for college planning. Please note - students should use a private email address (not their RPS account) when creating an account with College Board.
Reporting Attendance
RFC and RHS require a parent/guardian phone call for absence reporting. Please do not send your student with a note. This process helps staff verify the authenticity of the report. Please call 616-863-6352 to report an absence, late arrival or early departure.
High school students may sign themselves in and out once a parent has called. Parents/guardians are not required to enter the building to sign the student out. This is also different than the process used in RPS middle schools.
Parent Advisory Council
Rockford Freshman Center and Rockford High School welcome parents to attend and participate in Parent Advisory Council. PAC meetings are held once per trimester and provide an opportunity for parents/guardians to receive updates about high school activities. Meetings are held virtually in Google Meet and are recorded for those who cannot attend on scheduled date(s) and/or time. We held our tri 3 meeting on March 3. The notes from that meeting are linked below.
