FUNDS FOR FRIENDS

The Score Logo

Come to Cannonsburg’s Fund$ for Friend$ Night Monday, November 9th…wait until 5pm though. If you can make it, bring your whole family and a copy of the flyer below or the copy that was sent home with your child. Once we reach 30 costumers, we “unlock” the restaurant for the evening 5-10pm (so if a family of five comes with one flyer that counts for 5 participants). If you can’t fit it in to eat out, what about takeout?! When you come to pick up your food, just show the flyer to the hostess (GrubHub & DoorDash will not count).

In years past, we have earned over $550 from our Cannonsburg participation! This money goes to the Cannonsburg PTC.

We hope to see you all there!

Arrival Change

Parents,

Our Cannonsburg Bear will now be our official door greeter instead of the orange wavy guy. This will help reduce sound at the crosswalk, increase safety, and still make the start of arrival visible when the adults move the bear outside.  Please do not let your children exit the vehicle until the bear is outside with the main door open.  Thank you!

Meet Our Social Worker

ABOUT ME:

My name is Mrs. Chino and I am the School Social Worker (SSW) at Cannonsburg Elementary School. When I am not in school working with students, I love to travel, hike, kayak, run, walk, bike or bake. I have lived all over this country and have loved living in Michigan the most.

SOCIAL WORK:

My role is to support your student’s progress socially, behaviorally, and academically. School social workers work with students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) on targeted goals or through monitoring and consultation with school staff. Progress is monitored regularly and reported to families at the end of each trimester.

ATTENDANCE:

Your child’s attendance matters. Chronic absenteeism (missing 10% or more of school) is linked to lower academic achievement. By 6th grade, chronic absence is a strong predictor of dropping out of high school.

DATES TO REMEMBER:

IEP Due Date:

***You will be contacted by the IEP case manager prior to this date to schedule.

  • Annual Review (Update Goals)
  • Re-Evaluation (3 year testing and goal updates)

Holiday Support

There are times in life when knowing people are thinking about you just makes things a little easier.  Your Cannonsburg families would really like to share some love and resources with your family this holiday season.  If you are in need of support in this season of life, please fill out the form below or the form sent home with your student BY Wednesday November 11.  All information will be kept strictly confidential. Our office team and school Social Worker will share the requests (no names will be shared) with other families at Cannonsburg who would like to help/sponsor a family.  Families receiving donations will need to select a time and pick up the donations on Wednesday, December 16.  If we do not have enough sponsors to help all of our families, we will prioritize based on need and/or those that have not been previously supported.
