Hello Edgerton Families!
Five days is a Big Deal! We did it and it looks like we are on the right track. Thank you to you our ET families for the support you give your student and our school. Your kiddos have been sharing stories of summer memories, school preparation and excitement about being here. We know the days are long and they are tired, but it has been a heartwarming week for the staff. Have a great weekend as you enjoy a few days of down time and summer fun.
This newsletter will be sent every other week and serves to keep you up to date on all the happenings at Edgerton Trials. The newsletter can also be found on the Edgerton Trails website. Classroom teachers will also be sending out newsletters. Our goal is to keep you informed on the happenings at our school, in the classroom and in our school community. Please feel free to reach out to the office or myself should you have any questions or concerns.

Paraprofessional Opportunity
WE ARE HIRING AT EDGERTON TRAILS
Edgerton Trails Elementary is looking for dedicated paraprofessionals to join our team!
We currently have two open positions.
- Position 1: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 5 hours a day.
- Position 2: Every day 2:15-3:45

ET Field Trip and Fun Pass
Instead of paying for multiple events and activities throughout the year, The Edgerton Trails PTO bundles many of the most popular student activities into on convenient payment. The Field Trip and Fun Pass provides a one payment opportunity for each grade.
The Pass includes the following:
- All grade level field trips
- Class t-shirt
- Monthly popcorn days
- Mileage Club (Grades 2-5)
2026-27 Fees
Fees differ based on the individual grade level field trips and the admission and transportation costs.

Holiday Parties At Edgerton Trails
We’re excited to bring back one of our favorite school traditions this year—classroom parties! These are special opportunities for our students, teachers, and families to celebrate together.Our classroom parties are scheduled for:
- October 30- Halloween
- December 17 – Holiday
- February 11 – Valentine’s Day
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll send information to families about how you can sign up to participate in one of the three parties. We’ll be able to have a maximum of five parents/guardians per classroom for each party.
To give as many families as possible the opportunity to participate, each family may have one family member sign up for one party per child during the school year. This will help ensure that we can have a variety of parents and guardians represented at our celebrations. Please find alternative arrangements for younger siblings when you attend a classroom party.
We are excited to welcome families back into the building and bring this tradition back for our students, parents, and staff! Parent volunteers will help with planning, organizing, and running the parties, which will also help take some of the load off our classroom teachers. More information and sign-up details will be coming your way in the next couple of weeks.
As we begin the year: important reminders
A bullet point list of some reminders. Thank you for your cooperation with these as we create a place of learning, growth and safety for our students.
- Students should not communicate using iphones or watches during the school day. If students need to contact home the office and classroom teacher can assist.
- RPS district is a no edible birthday treat district. Families can send in small tokens or a class book to celebrate if they would like. At Edgerton, we announce all student birthdays and invite them to the office for a small gift.
- Doors Open at 8:25. The tardy bell rings at 8:35 and instruction begins at 8:40.
- Attendance and any changes to pick up procedures should be communicated to the front office and the classroom teacher. (jperry1@rockfordschools.org) or (mschad@rockfordschools.org).
- DK and K parents, please send in an extra set of clothes for your student to keep in their lockers.
