Hello Edgerton Families!
This week has been an amazing week at Edgerton Trails. Our staff was supported with so much love and fun through Staff Appreciation Week. Thank you to all our families for the kind notes to teachers and staff as well as the donations to our PTO Sunshine Committee.
Our 3rd-5th grade students will wrap up MSTEP testing and will move to their NWEA testing next week. The students did a great job of staying focused and doing their best and we celebrated on Fridays. The testing is just one way the students at Edgerton Trails shine and provide our district with data that informs best practices.
The Spring Carnival was last night and even though the weather wasn't perfect Spring weather it is always great when we can gather as a school community and have some fun. Thank you to our PTO for the planning and preparation put into this event.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful moms, daughters, aunties, sisters, and grandmas out there!!
registration is open for all new DK/Kindergarten students
If you have an incoming DK/K student please register them ASAP. This allows us to manage our class sizes and get our class rosters as accurate as possible before summer. Enrollment information can be found below. Contact Melissa Schad (mschad@rockfordschools.org) for assistance. Thank you! :)
Rockford Public Schools Kindergarten Enrollment is now OPEN!
- Children who turn five years old on or before December 1, 2026, are eligible to enroll for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Take advantage of an early placement screening by enrolling your Developmental Kindergarten or Kindergarten-age child prior to June 1, 2026.
- Please visit www.rockfordschools.org/enrollment/kindergarten-enrollment/ to review the online enrollment procedures and required documentation.
- If on June 6, 2026, your child is a current DK, Early Childhood Special Education, SIP or SSG student, an additional enrollment is not required.
Talent Show
- June 2 during the school day
- Students 2nd-5th grade are invited to audition.
- Acts should be less than 3 minutes.
- One act for each student.
- Please sign up in Mrs. Gerrits room by May 14

A few other items
- Any Medications in the school office should be picked up the last week of school.
- Please look for any library books or classroom books that should be returned to school.
- Encourage your student to look in the Lost and Found for any items they may have misplaced.
- We are always collecting books for Book BINGO. Donations can be brought to the front office anytime. Thank you!

- Lemonade Wars: June 3 students can bring between .50-1.25 for buying lemonade from one of the stands. This is a cumulative project based on a book the students read. All proceeds will go to charity. This is an all school event put on by our 4th grade classes.
Yearbooks
If you ordered a yearbook they should come home in the next few days. If you did not order one and would like to purchase one, we have a limited number of extras in the office. The cost is $20.00 (cash only).
5th Grade Celebrations!
- REBOUNDERZ on May 27, 2026
- All students attending Rebounderz need to complete a waiver.

- Parents should plan on meeting at Rebounderz.
June 4 Celebration at school
- This is a half day of school
- Parents are invited to attend
- Students will have a brief celebration and picture taking opportunity in the cafeteria
- 5th grade teachers will send out concrete times; however, we are looking at starting at 10:45 with an assembly to recognize our 5th graders.
- 5th graders will walk down the hall with all our other students lining the hallways to cheer them on.
- More info and final details from 5th grade teachers will be coming soon.
