RVA Counseling Services

Counseling Services

Academic planning, career and educational planning, and personal/social issues support are available to River Valley Academy students.

Academic planning includes choosing courses, tracking graduation progress, scheduling, credit recovery, dual enrollment, test prep information and study skills. Career and educational planning includes college and the application process, financial aid and scholarships, career planning and exploration, military information, and apprenticeship/trades information. To receive support in these areas, please stop by the RVA office or schedule an appointment with Jenny Deur.

Personal/social issues support can look like work around coping strategies, resiliency, peer relationships, effective social skills, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution, anxiety, and counseling referrals. To receive support in these areas, stop by room 2 to find our RVA social worker, Amanda Petrovich, or reach out directly via Schoology or email.
