Welcome to Rockford Public Schools and thank you for your interest in our district. It is recognized you have a choice in where you pursue an education for your child and we are honored to have been a consideration in your process.
It is expected you will have questions as far as what to anticipate as the summer moves toward our first day of school on August 21, 2023. Please note, our buildings are not staffed until the month of August and, therefore, a district representative will be unable to directly answer your questions until then. In hopes of addressing a few common topics, we have provided the below explanations to some of our frequently asked questions. If your question is not addressed below, please contact your child’s building the second week in August. In addition, please refer to page 2 for Open House dates and times.
All incoming Developmental Kindergarten and Kindergarten students are required to be screened. After your student’s enrollment is approved, a district representative will provide you with the screening sign-up scheduled for August 9. Children with a birthdate of December 2, 2018 or after are not eligible to enroll for the 2023-2024 school year.
